Our delivery service
It’s important to us that from the moment you choose your furniture or accessories to the day that you take delivery everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Furniture Stop's direct home delivery specialists are trained to appreciate the furniture you have purchased and the work of the master craftsmen who make it. As a result, they are extremely careful in their handling of your furniture at every step of the delivery process. Their goal is to make sure that you are a satisfied customer on delivery day.
Free* Delivery Sitewide: What does this mean?
To keep it simple we have calculated and included our delivery costs into our displayed prices per item. The price we display on the product page includes the delivery cost. The marketing term used across the industry is simplified into Free delivery but that needs some further clarification.
For example, a sofa delivery may cost us £78 (incl. vat); and the item is displayed as £499 including delivery & VAT then the actual item value is £421(incl.vat).
Delivery is from Monday to Sunday (Express Delivery carriers) and Monday to Saturday (Specialized 2 Man Delivery partners)
Ourselves and our Delivery Partners will do our best to arrange the most convenient delivery time for you (bearing in mind our delivery routes and warehouse operating hours).
Estimated time until delivery
Your estimated delivery time will be provided at the point of sale aka the product listing delivery information tab but will depend on current stock levels and whether or not the item is being made to order – for example if you have ordered a sofa or bed upholstered in your choice of colour and fabric. The estimated delivery time is calculated from the day of the order but does not include weekends and Bank Holidays, and does not apply to Scotland or areas further than a 40-mile distance from the nearest distribution centre.
Once your goods have arrived, a member of our Direct Home Delivery Service Team will be in touch in order to arrange your delivery day to suit your needs.
On the delivery day, our Direct Home Delivery Specialists will:
- deliver your furniture where you would like it in your room of choice;
- make sure that everything is exactly as you want it.
- ask for a signature of the (POD) Proof of Delivery which states that you have received the items as per your order and in the expected new condition.
- Be prepared to produce your ID/Driving Licence and Credit Card used for Purchasing the items as a measure to counter-fight fraudulent purchases.
Failed delivery during a scheduled drop.
When ordering bulky items like sofas and beds it is the customers responsibility to take careful measurements of their property's door openings and entryways so that the drivers can safely bring the item inside the customers property.
In case the (a) items did not fit or the attempt to bring them into the property seems to be unsafe/dangerous for the integrity of the drivers, the property, or the item itself, the drivers have the right to stop the delivery attempt and can/will return the item to our warehouse and we will mark the delivery as a failed delivery attempt.
A failed delivery attempt could also be marked when the (b) customers are not present or available to accept their orders during the scheduled delivery date or delivery window that was announce to them.
A third reason a delivery could be marked as a failed delivery attempt is when the customers have changed their mind and (c) cancelled the order after the item was dispatched or routed with the delivery partners.
The minimum cost for the failed delivery of bulky items with any 2 man service will be charged at £79.99. The delivery cost for larger orders may be calculated as a percentage of the order (e.g 10% of £1600= £160 Delivery Cost).
Where we deliver
Furniture Stop delivers to mainland England, Scotland and Wales. Where the delivery area is more than 40 miles away from our nearest distribution centre, or in Scotland, for logistics reasons we estimate an additional 1-2 weeks will need to be added on to the originally quoted delivery time.

We now offer a chargeable disposal service with our specialized 2 man delivery partners, but we also promote the British Heart Foundation as our charity organization of choice. If your preloved item is still in good shape we encourage you to donate it to BHF and help their honorable cause that saves thousands of lives every year.
